Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Best pizza I have had in years (and I live in Chicago). Excellent service. We had cheese, sausage and mushroom, vegetarian, and Italian beef pizza and all were delicious. We left fatter and happier. Definitely recommend this place and worth it to travel to. Delicious! We can't wait to visit again on our next trip.

Great Italian Sub. Will try the pizza next time. I went near closing time but felt very welcome. They also deliver.

Pizza was awesome and the service was outstanding!!! Great place to eat pizza and a salad..

My wife and I had dinner here. We had side garden salad, which we split. Pretty standard salad, except the French dressing (which was homemade) was really good. Our waitress brought us the French, even though we ordered Italian dressing (which was also good), so kudos to her. For pizza, we ordered the works and it was very good. Homemade sausage was very tasty, little spicy. Definitely recommend this place.

Great pizza with a very thin crust that was very tasty. Generous toppings made it delicious. We had pepperoni, mushrooms and onions and loved every bite. We also had a salad with homemade dressing. The French dressing almost looks like an Italian dressing and it was amazing. Location is not the best but the food is definitely worth the trip.

My absolute FAVORITE pizza in SWFL! Don't let the location and building fool you...they know how to cook a perfect pizza. I have ordered from here 10+ times. Some delivery some pickup but all orders resulted in fabulous pizza nights! If you like thin, crispy pizza then this place will become your favorite too. The pizza is cut into thin rectangle slices. The Hawaiian and the Meatlovers are my favorite. The side salads are fresh and plentiful. They also offer a small selection of appetizers, sandwiches and pasta. Locally owned and family operated. They are a very nice family and go out of their way to ensure you are happy with your meal.

I ate here on a recommendation of a close friend and I am so glad I did! I ordered carry out on a Friday night and I was so surprised that there was only a 15 minute wait. When we arrived to pick up the pizza, there wasn't any one in the restaurant and it made me a little nervous but there was nothing to worry about! The pizza was SO GOOD! It was a little cold when we got home (nothing a quick heat up in the oven couldn't fix -- and I think it was because it was we live 15 minutes away). It was so, so delicious. I will be ordering it again and will let all my friends know about it! Just FYI-- it says it's on the beach but it's actually before the bridge.

Great pizzas with a thin crust and not soaked in cheese. Very friendly staff and for take out you get the pizzas conveniently sliced. I'll be back!

Nice place, good thin pizza. New York style, wife approved. Friendly staff. Very tasty toppings. Good find.

They deliver- which is awesome when you don't want to make the trip over the bridge, the staff was friendly, and the pizza was really good. I have a kid who doesn't like pizza and she got spaghetti and meatballs and loved it. The portion was huge and came with a substantial sized side salad so she will have a couple meals out of it. Great value for what you get and it's nice to have pizza that isn't all dough like absolutely everything else here in southwest Florida.

HANDS DOWN BEST PIZZA IN TOWN. If the Jolly Roger was in a better location, its phenomenal pizza would be drawing mammoth crowds and creating huge lines. It is by far the best pizza I have had in Fort Myers. Since that may not be saying much, I'll also state that it rivals the trendy pizza joints I've visited in New York and Rome. Don't be put off by its divey look or the empty store fronts nearby. This place is a hidden gem. They serve pizza with a thin and delicately crispy crust. We had a sausage pizza, which can be hard to find outside the Midwest. It had a just-right ample amount of sauce, cheese and topping. Their home-made Italian salad dressing is excellent. A tip: thin crust pizza should be eaten right out of the oven. Don't get it delivered. Go there and eat it while it's hot.

This pizza is pretty good. Different but good. Super crispy. Fresh ingredients. Good taste. Friendly staff. Took about 30 minutes for take out. TV and beer. Florida decor of fish which is different for me to see in a pizzeria being from NJ.

Great pizza near the beach. The crust is paper thin, love it! They deliver, but I would do pick-up... If you liked Shakey's Pizza as a kid this darn close...

Excellent pizza - the service was great and the staff was so pleasant and accommodating. Definitely worth a trip for pizza and pasta!b

Best pizza in the states! We always go with the sausage. The Italian beef is great too. It's worth the drive over the bridge.

Crispy thin pizza for sure at this place. The only issue is the oven temp is so hot to get the crust crispy it kinda obliterates the sauce and cheese on top. Maybe they should add more cheese to the pizza. Since the sauce is thin it needs more taste. Only pizza I have eaten in a while that I used salt. A few tweaks and they will have an excellent product.

Love Illinois THIN CRUST. Never had yours, but we will be back ... probably every other day! I used to think deep dish Malnatis was the ONLY pizza from Illinois. But Jolly Roger is just like Home Run Inn, Maria's or other thin crust pizzas that believe the toppings and a crisp crust are the bomb. One tip... offer the italian beef "hot" - more seasonings! Overall, New Yorkers, Ohioans, Illinoisans, Indiana folk, you will love it this transported Champaign Urbana place.

Best pizza we have had in 15 years trying pizza in ft Myers beach! I would show pictures but all five pizzas got completely devoured by 13 of us. The perfect mix of toppings, cheese, and crust. Thin crust the way it should be done. We have tried a lot of bad pizza places in the area but the Jolly Roger is head and shoulders above all in all categories! Great pizza, great price, great service. You would expect to get that at a good pizza place and fortunately we found the right one finally!

I am obsessed with this pizza. I used to eat that The Jolly Roger in Illinois and it has been a life long favorite. I am in Ft. Myers a couple times a year and make sure to drop in at least once. I usually order a second pizza to go while I am eating in the restaurant. The sausage is not to be missed and I promise you, you won't be made at the Italian Beef pizza.

Found this treasure far away from where I first tried their pizza, deep in downtown Urbana, IL. Fantastic pizza, thin crispy crust, mozzarella and any number of ingredients (I recommend Italian Beef). Tucked away just off the island, It looks pretty plain from the outside but don't be fooled, the real treasure is the pizza.

This place is sort of a dive, but I like dives. This review is just for the pizza. I consider myself a huge pizza aficionado, and I love and appreciate all styles- NY, Chicago, etc. This pizza is some of the best thin crust you can get. It's addictive. The sausage is Chicago quality, and not that cheap food service grade stuff you get from normal places. Cheese and sauce are good as well. I grew up in Champaign Urbana where the original location was, and I am glad to see that they have returned. We all really missed their pizza, and now my parents live close to the new FL location. They were kind enough to par bake pizzas for us to take home and put in the freezer (you will need a stone for reheating). If you love pizza, you owe it to yourself to try Jolly Roger.

Excellent pizza, cute clean place. Will absolutely go again! Great thin crust pizza without an over whelming amount of topping! Perfect.

We had a pesto pizza and a meat lovers pizza. The toppings on both were really, really good. Plenty of cheese and pesto on the pesto; plenty of meat on the meat lovers - nice touch was the homemade sausage and bacon combo. The crust was what really set it apart, though. Nice and crunchy and thin. We'll definitely go back.

The Jolly Roger on Fort Myers Beach has GREAT thin crust pizza and Italian Beef. The inside is pleasant and clean. The service was excellent. The original Jolly Roger was in Urbana, IL. This is owned by a family member and has the same great recipes.

Overpriced and nothing special. Tiny thin crust pizzas that are about 18 bucks each. We wanted two larges and a medium, and they said they only had large. What they should've said was that they only have smalls. Lastly, we ordered three pizzas delivery for four vegetarians, and of course one of them had to come with pepperoni. What a rip off. How does pizza get delivered quickly, but cold enough to need to immediately microwave, anyway?

This is not like Chicago thin crust pizza as a reviewer stated below. Definitely does not even compare to Giordanno's. However, the thin crust is still addictive and the style they cut it you can't help but tell yourself, "Just one more piece," and before you know it you've eaten half a pizza. My kids absolutely loved it, and us parents enjoyed it as well. The starters (salad and soup) are good but a bit overpriced for what you get. This is a family owned restaurant and the decor is simple and minimal. They are still using the same glassware they had at their original location in Champaign, IL. Service was very attentive and friendly, she even offered our boys a treat from the treasure box when they were done with their meals. We arrived around 5:30pm on a weekday and we were the only diners there. However, we drove past the restaurant around 6:30pm and there were several cars in the parking lot by then. We enjoyed our meal and were happy to support a local business. Very family friendly and good for large groups as well. Our pizza came out very quickly!
